Terms and conditions
Draft prepared 4 October 2026 · Not reviewed · Not in force
This terms and conditions is a working draft for Edward. It is not legal advice, it has not been reviewed, and it does not apply to a live purchase until Edward replaces the placeholders, checks the text, and removes the draft banner.
Who you are contracting with
These terms are a draft of the contract for buying the paid edition of VoiceBot from this website. They are not in force.
- Seller
- Edward — [LEGAL NAME PLACEHOLDER]
- Trading name
- [TRADING NAME PLACEHOLDER]
- Postal address
- [POSTAL ADDRESS PLACEHOLDER]
- Company number
- [COMPANY NUMBER PLACEHOLDER]
- VAT number
- [VAT NUMBER PLACEHOLDER]
- Contact email
- [CONTACT EMAIL PLACEHOLDER]
These are placeholders. Edward must replace them with the real legal name, address, company number, and VAT number before the site goes live. This draft does not invent those details.
The product
VoiceBot is a Mac app. You can try it for 7 days. After the trial, the paid edition is sold here as a one-time purchase. It is not a subscription. Checkout is not set up to renew, and it does not create a Stripe subscription.
What the trial includes is defined by the app. This website does not run the trial clock.
Two licences
Paying on this site and using the free app are different:
- The free app stays under the GNU General Public License version 3 (GPL-3). A purchase here does not relicense that app and does not remove GPL-3 rights in the free app.
- The paid edition is supplied under its own closed licence, which is not the GPL. The text of that licence is not on this site yet. [CLOSED LICENCE TEXT PLACEHOLDER]
Review point for Edward: if the paid edition is derived from the GPL-3 app, a closed licence may be incompatible with those GPL-3 obligations. This draft does not decide that question. He needs to settle it before live sales.
You do not buy the intellectual property. You receive only the rights the closed licence, once published, actually grants.
Price
Fixed one-time prices: US$19.99 (USD), £14.99 (GBP), €19.99 (EUR), A$29.99 (AUD), ZAR 300.00 (ZAR). Anywhere else pays the US dollar price. These amounts are set per currency, not converted from one price. Country US selects USD. The charge is US$19.99, once.
The amount you pay is the one-time price, in the currency shown on the buy page and on Stripe Checkout, at the time you pay. There is no recurring charge. Tax treatment, including whether VAT is added, is undecided. [VAT TREATMENT PLACEHOLDER]
Checkout and when a contract exists
Payment is taken only by Stripe Checkout. This site does not accept card numbers. A contract for a live purchase would be formed when Stripe confirms the one-time payment. While these terms remain a draft, and while the server is in Stripe test mode, a successful test payment is a test, not a live sale.
You must be able to enter a contract. The paid edition is offered to adults.
Delivery
This website confirms the Stripe payment. It does not itself email a licence key or a download. How the paid build reaches the buyer is still open. [DELIVERY METHOD PLACEHOLDER]
Cancellation and refunds
Edward has not set a refund policy. Before live payments he must publish one that respects consumer law that applies to him, including the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015 and, for consumers at a distance, the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.
Those UK regulations give many consumers 14 days to cancel a distance contract. For digital content, that right can end sooner if the consumer expressly asks for supply during the 14 days and acknowledges that they lose the cancellation right. Edward has not chosen whether delivery is immediate, or what acknowledgement will be asked for. [CANCELLATION POLICY PLACEHOLDER]
Nothing in this draft removes rights that the law does not allow a seller to remove.
Acceptable use of the site
Do not misuse the site, probe it, or attempt to interfere with Checkout. Do not present a test-mode payment as a live licence.
Liability
This draft does not exclude liability that cannot legally be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Any other cap is undecided. [LIABILITY CAP PLACEHOLDER]
The free GPL-3 app has the licence terms of that program, including the absence of warranty in the GPL-3, to the extent those terms apply. Those GPL-3 terms are not rewritten here.
Governing law
Edward has not chosen the governing law or the courts. [GOVERNING LAW AND COURTS PLACEHOLDER]
Changes
Edward should replace this draft in full after review, date the replacement, and remove the draft banner. A change does not rewrite a purchase already completed under terms that were in force at the time.
